Personnel Constraints
A
personnel constraint is a
constraint that constrains the
architecture, design, implementation, or testing of a
personnel component.
The typical objectives of a personnel constraint are to:
- Ensure that some or all personnel components conform to
necessary architecture, design, implementation, and testing
constraints that have been imposed for business or technical
reasons.
The following are typical examples of personnel
constraints:
- Required personnel in terms of roles played and staffing
numbers
- Required skill level of the personnel
- Required training for the personnel
- Required support for circumventing foreseeable human
errors under both normal and extreme conditions
- Required ergonomics such as color and duration of error
messages, physical placement of critical indicators or keys,
and use of auditory signals
The following guidelines have been found to be useful when
producing personnel constraints:
- Do not unnecessarily constrain the architecture, design,
or implementation of personnel components.
